After the pandemic hit hard on people's lives, they focused on living a healthy life. Switching from fast foods to home foods, cutting off fatty products, oily products, etc., and in all the social media platforms, we have seen people talking about health and nutrients.

However, do we know all those terms? Let us clear the doubts about the terms of the nutrient we must learn.

What Do All These Nutrition Terms Mean? A Simple Guide

Macronutrients: It is one of the nutrient terms used by nutritionists or health advisors. It is a nutrient that includes carbohydrates, proteins, fats, Etc., needed in bulk quantity. Some examples of this type are potatoes, cereals, and oils rich in micronutrients.

Micronutrients: It is the vice versa of macronutrients, where the human body requires only a small portion, such as vitamins, minerals, etc. Some foods are leafy vegetables, butter, etc.

Antioxidants: These are some of the most used words in every advertisement. Have you wondered what it is? These fighting components act as saviors against diseases and remove damaging agents from the body to save from illnesses.

Fiber: It is a type of carbohydrate that the human body cannot digest, but at the same time, it helps to keep our digestive system on track or keep it healthy and reduce the level of some diseases.

Glycemic index: This measurement is called the glycemic index when a human eats food that increases blood d sugar levels. Humans must consume a low-level sugar-containing food to keep the index level low and the body healthy.

Omega-3: These are the fat friends that help to reduce inflammation, increase the hearty heart level, and improve the function of the brain that are rich in nuts, fish, etc.

Probiotics: These buddies are suitable for the human digestive system as live bacteria or yeasts in foods like curd, food batters, and other fermented foods.

Sodium: The human body needs a small number of minerals that help the body to keep under control, which is called sodium, which is rich in salt and packed/processed foods. However, remember that less is "better" and that too much sodium food consumption can lead to high blood pressure and related health problems.

Superfoods: These foods are exceptionally high in nutrients and antioxidants, such as berries, leafy greens, and nuts. While they can benefit our health, it is essential to remember that not all "superfoods" can cure diseases.
